Andy Bonzagni (Owner)

Andy has been fly fishing all over the world since 1970. Following his passion for fly fishing, Andy decided to walk away from his chosen profession of cosmetology and opened up Concord Outfitters in 1999. Equally proficient in both fresh and saltwater, Andy will say that his favorite place in the world to fish is the Lodgepole River in British Columbia. This is not to say that the fish in New Zealand, the Bahamas, Belize, Patagonia, Montana, etc...are any safer. Andy can be found guiding on local rivers year round and when he's not guiding, he's teaching Fly Fishing 101 courses out of the shop to help people young and old get into the sport or spearheading local stream restoration efforts. Need a casting lesson?...Andy's your guy!
Wait, did I say "cosmetology"? I meant "construction".

Dave Armstrong (Shop Manager)

Dave has been fishing since the age of 3 and fly fishing since 1993. After 20 years of working in high tech, Dave decided to switch gears and follow his passion and has been managing the shop for the past couple of years.
Being the only person in the shop that knows what a computer is, Dave has also taken over as webmaster for the shop and works diligently to keep the site updated with current and interesting content. Being both a fresh and saltwater fly fisherman, Dave can be found anywhere from local trout streams to Montana, Bahamas, Caribbean, Idaho, and just about anywhere in between. A prolific fly tier in his own right, Dave teaches fly tying classes out of the shop and a guided day with Dave consists of using truly unique flies that have been revised over the years to specifically match the hatch on our local rivers. Although Dave calls the Concord area home, he is just as likely to be found hosting shop trips out to Montana or the Bahamas as he is stalking the banks of rivers such as the South Branch of the Raritan River in New Jersey. It's tough to keep him in one place. When pressed for a favorite place to fish, Dave rattled off 15 different rivers in succession. When limited to just one...he said, "Probably either Grand Lake Stream up in Maine or Missouri River out in Montana"...(Dave isn't a big fan of following directions). Little known fact: Dave is fluent in 6 languages (5 of which can only be heard underwater).

Miles McCloy (Shop Foreman)

Miles has been a mainstay at Concord Outfitters since before the ribbon cutting ceremony. A Concord native himself, Miles cut his teeth on our local rivers and ponds and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone in the area with such intimate knowledge of our local watersheds. Like fishing for trout in the Assabet? You can thank Miles for that. For years, Miles has been running fishing camps during the summer months and has been instrumental in teaching the younger generation in the area how to fish and enjoy the outdoors. When Miles isn't in the shop, you don't have to look too far to find him; he's either stalking carp in the grass flats, poling for pike, chucking top water plugs at bass, or trout fishing with homespun creations that would make A.K. Best jealous. Miles' enthusiasm and creativity make him a joy to be around and one heckuva fisherman. Let's just put it this way...we wouldn't want to be a fish growing up in Concord...not with Miles kicking around.

Chris Calkins (Retail Associate)

Chris Calkins first sauntered into the shop at the tender age of 9 to take our Fly Fishing 101 course. That was the beginning of a lifelong passion for fly fishing and we have been lucky enough to have Chris on the payroll since he was old enough to legally work in the Commonwealth. Primarily a freshwater fly fisherman, Chris can be found wetting a line not only in our local rivers, but also in Montana, Vermont, Wyoming, you name it. Being a man of many talents, Chris is going to be rowing crew at Dartmouth this fall and we can only imagine that he will somehow figure out a way to fish out of one of those things. Chris' favorite place to fish is the famed Madison River near West Yellowstone. He has basically become a local out there and the fish have a healthy fear of him...as well they should. As a side note, if you ever have any questions about Barry Manilow, Chris is your guy. He has seen him in concert over 50 times and he is the president of the local Barry Manilow fanclub affectionately known as "Fanilows".
Favorite Rod/Reel: Orvis Trident TLS 4wt, Abel Super 5N

Dick Wolk (custodian)

Dick doesn't do a whole heckuva lot around the shop. In fact, most days he doesn't even show up. He's old and slow and can't remember which button to press to answer the phone, but he is quick with a joke and often times leaves his lunch unattended just long enough for the rest of the staff to eat it. (He always thinks it was him that ate it and we're starting to get a little concerned about his weight loss, but his wife packs a mean lunch, so we're going with it for now). Dick is available for guided days, but due to bladder control issues scheduling conflicts, we like to limit him to half days. You won't catch many fish while fishing with Dick, but you'll hear more stories about fiber supplements than you can shake a stick at. We're just kidding...he doesn't actually work here...he's just been begging to get his picture on the site for so long we figured we'd sneak him in here.
